Let’s read the Bible in one Year

Have you ever joined in a year-long Bible reading plan that gets you through the Bible in one year? I haven’t but I have always wanted to. What has happened to me is I haven’t found a plan I liked and then got in late and felt discouraged. This year I am ready to go. Do you want to join in? Here are a few resources but certainly there are a lot more out there.

The Bible Recap - This is the plan I have chosen it is from Tara-Leigh Cobble and she’s pretty fantastic. What I like about this plan is we will read the Bible chronologically and every day you can listen to Tara-Leigh’s podcast for a recap of what we read. Tara-Leigh is incredibly gifted at helping us understand the context. She has a book too with the recap details (I got it on Kindle for Scott and the big old hardcover for me because I am a book nerd). It isn’t required as the information is on her podcast. The Bible App has her plan and many others. It is nice because it has the capability for you to listen if you’d like or read. Tara has a printable on her site where you can print out the schedule of reading as well as prayer for each day before you read.

Daily Audio Bible - A friend of mine highly recommends this. This year is the first year she has been through the whole Bible. What an incredible blessing. With the Daily Audio Bible, you can also listen in chronological order or straight through. One of the things I love is you can listen to the Daily Audio Bible in several languages! What a wonderful opportunity to share with so many!

Bible in One Year with Nicky Gumble - I began this program in the middle of 2020 and I listen to it every day via podcast as I get ready for work. It is a wonderful way to start the day. They also have an app and will have a brand new app for 2021. Nicky and Pippa Gumble are incredible at sharing God’s truth. Each day begins with a short introduction from Nicky followed by time in the Old Testament and the New Testament, thoughts, and prayers. They have a youth edition and an express edition as well. There is also a book, which I have because I am doing this one too. I have to start from day one so I can see all I missed. You can also sign up for emails. The Bible App also has this plan if you want to join there.

The Bible App - There are quite a few Bible reading plans in the Bible App. You can download the app to your phone or tablet or even go through the plans on your computer.

Ligonier Ministries has an extensive list of Bible reading plans that you can choose from as well. Each one listed comes with a printable PDF to keep you on track which also lists the ministry that brings it so you can connect and learn more. It is quite extensive with daily plans, weekday plans, books of the Bible plans, and more. Find it all here.
