PROMISE FM TOWER UPDATE

Doom and gloom.

There doesn’t seem to be a short supply of bad news these days. And I think dealing with it has left us all stressed and weary.

So how about some good news? And if you love The Promise FM…this is good news.

But before I tell you my good news, let me tell you about Lesia. She lost her husband after a seven-year battle with cancer, and found her way through it partly by listening to The Promise FM. She says, “I could be sitting at home depressed at my loss and feeling sorry for myself, but I turn to your station and get uplifted with your music every day and can’t help but focus on living for God and what He wants for me. It has helped me move forward with my life.”

Leisa’s story is what makes my good news so incredibly exciting.

After the disastrous ice storm that took The Promise FM tower down in 2024, we are finally ready to begin construction at a new location. That means getting the 90.5 signal back to near full strength and adding a signal in Alpena at 98.1, reaching people that have had a hard time hearing us over the last couple of years.

But the antenna, cable, transmitter and coupler are just the hardware. What’s exciting is the stories we’ll hear in the coming months as more people like Lesia find what they need to help them through the ups and downs of life. More hope found in Jesus. More busy parents encouraged. More worship services in cars across Northern Michigan.

The engineers and construction crew are ready. Now, I’m asking you to give to help finish the work. It’s going to cost about $500,000.

But wait, here’s some more good news: a donor has offered to give half that amount as a match. That means your gift will be doubled. If together we can raise $250,000, this donor will match it, and the need will be met.

For many radio stations, the tower collapsing during an ice storm would have been a death sentence. But God has been faithful in so many ways to get us to this point. We’re so grateful to those who have continued giving and listening and praying with us through this challenging time.

Will you prayerfully consider a gift of $250 today to help complete the Raising Hope project? Or maybe you can take the next step and give a leadership of $1000 or even $5000.

Lesia ended her letter to us with these words: “Thanks for your life-giving radio!”

Any gift will make a difference. And remember, whatever you give is having double impact thanks to our matching donor.

I’m thinking about the thousands of people who can’t hear The Promise FM right now. Please help provide life-giving radio to even more people than ever with your gift today. We’re doing more than raising a tower, we’re Raising Hope.
